STARZ-SELECT 13U TAKE SILVER MEDALS IN STATE AAU TOURNEY

The Starz came up short in the quest for the first place gold, losing in overtime to a talented and tough Lady Shooting Stars team. The Starz rallied in the second half of a great game to force overtime on 3 foul shots by Nia Alleyne, who lead the team in scoring with 19 points. Tracey Carrington controlled the boards with 14 rebounds but fouled out with over 3 minutes to go. The Starz ran out of gas in overtime and ended up on the wrong side of a final score of 66-54. The Starz travel this weekend to Cincinatti to play in the Adidas Midwest Showcase and then travel to AAU Nationals in Norman, Oklahoma. Great job by Coach Blizzard and Coach Bates.

12U STARZ-SELECT STAY UNBEATEN

The Starz 12u team has won their first 4 games at the Park School which is hosting the Lutherville-Timonium Rec Council's Spring league. The Starz ran away from LTRC by a score of 39-7 in this week's game. The Starz used a pressure defense and crisp passing attack to shut down their opponents.

The Baltimore Starz-Select is a non-profit, Baltimore city based organization that was created to help girls between the ages of 9-17 achieve excellence in life by promoting education and physical fitness. The Baltimore Starz is a girls basketball program that challenges our kids to succeed through competitive scheduling, hard work and following through with commitments. We strive to provide our girls with positive recreational activities in safe environments with plenty of instruction, encouragement and guidance both on and off the court.
